Hand-Dyed Silk Scarves

Our entire hand-dyed silk scarf collection is eco-friendly and made by disadvantaged artisans at Srishti Welfare Centre in southern India - a community of artisans with disabilities who reach economic self-sufficiency through manufacturing employment. Drawing on shibori and batik resist-dye techniques, artisans hand-dye each scarf using all natural dyes from recycled tea leaves, madder root, pomegranate, marigold, indigo and turmeric.

Our shibori collection is made using the ancient Japanese art of tie-dye, while our batik scarves are made using wax-resist dyeing, an art form practiced 2000 years ago in India and refined in Indonesia. Made of 100% pure silk, our collection comes in heavyweight (katan silk) and lightweight silk (tabby silk).

Please note any color variations are intentional due to the handmade nature of this collection and add to the uniqueness of each scarf.
